NDLEA Arrests Cocaine Peddlers In IDPs Camp

The Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Borno Command, said it had arrested two men for allegedly peddling cocaine in the Internally Displaced Persons’ camp in Dikwa.

The Commander of the Borno Command, Mr Ona Ogilegwu, told NAN in Maiduguri on Sunday that one of the suspects, a 48-year-old man, was arrested on Feb. 27 in the camp.

He said that other illicit substances, including cannabis sativa, rophenol, and diazepam, were found on the drug peddler.

He said: “The criminal disguised himself as an officer of NDLEA in the IDPs camp in order to sell the illicit drugs.

“After surveillance by men of the command, we decided to buy the hard drugs from him to confirm that he was selling the drugs.

“We apprehended him as he taught we were coming to buy in large quantity.”

Ogilegwu said that the command also arrested a 32-year-old man, who was similarly in possession of other hard drugs in the same IDPs camp.

Pastor Tunde Bakare Wants The Manhood Of Ese Oruru's Abductor Cut Off

According to today.ng the versatile speaking Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly has requested that the abductor of Ese Oruru should be tried under the Sharia law. Pastor bee has asked for the manhood of the accused to be cut off according to reports.

Read the full story below:

He said this during a recent sermon at his church, situated at Akilo road, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos.

He wondered why a man should take advantage of an underage girl of 13, adding that any religion that condones the defiling of little girl is tolerating “perversion of the highest order.”

In the video recording that has gone viral on social media, Bakare said: “All the nonsense going on in Nigeria, taking 13-year-old girls and saying your religion does not forbid, and that one is in charge. When the wind of all these will blow, it will blow the roof of every palace and very one involved in this perpetuation of evil.

“Call it by its name. Abducting someone, sleeping with them. Any religion that permits that is not a religion after God’s heart.

“Religion is bondage… return to bondage is religion. That is why I hate religion with passion. Jesus did not come here to start another religion. He came to start a relationship with God.

“A 13-year old and your stick is jumping up and down. You are crazy, you are mad. If there’s any punishment that is standard, that is in the real Sharia- it is to cut off that stick.

“After all, you cut off (the hand of) the man who has stolen, so cut off (his p3nis) because he has stolen the childhood of another person.

“By the time you begin to cut off their stick, every other person will learn. Perversion of the highest order. Sleeping with underage girls and you say your religion does not forbid it, well, the human culture abhors it.”

Amber Rose Speaks On Why She Defended Kim Kardashian's Nude Photo

"What's right is what's right, and I felt the need to speak on it."

Whatever you think of Amber Rose's fame, the woman has used her platform to bring attention to important issues that she's passionate about -- namely, feminism and women's rights.

The model, who's become something of a feminist icon in the past couple of years, recently used her voice to stand up for reality TV queen Kim Kardashian, who sparked a huge debate online last week after she posted a nude selfie.

After seeing the negative reactions to Kardashian's photo, Rose spoke out in her defense -- but don't think she was just looking for attention.

"I would do that for any other woman," Rose told The Huffington Post in a phone interview. "It doesn't really matter. What's right is what's right, and I felt the need to speak on it. How people were going in on her was just unfair."

Rose said Kardashian reached out to her afterward to thank her. (The two text all the time, according to Rose.)

Using her celebrity status to speak up about the issues she's passionate about has always been the goal for Rose. But it wasn't until she split from rapper Wiz Khalifa, the father of her 3-year-old son, Sebastian, that she realized "it was my time to do whatever I wanted to do."

"This is what I've always wanted to do, but sometimes when you're in a relationship, you kind of think about the other person and they have their own career, and maybe you should keep your views to a minimum," Rose said. "And that was kind of how I felt for a while -- not that anyone made me feel that way, that was just me personally."

"Then I just got very liberated," she went on. "I felt like, 'This is my time, this is what I want to do.' And now I use my voice."

Rose said she doesn't "care about social media comments or how certain people feel about me."

"I can only just live my life to the fullest. You have one life to live, but I can't live it for anybody but myself," she said. "And when you live your life for yourself, that's when you're truly enlightened and happy."

When she's not speaking out about feminism, Rose oversees what's turning into a formidable empire. Aside from her eyewear, her MUVA clothing line, her book How to Be a Bad Bitch and her very own Slutwalk, Rose is launching an avatar of herself with 3D messaging app Zoobe this weekend at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. Fans who download the app can essentially use Rose's likeness to send messages to their friends.

"If you're a Rosebud, and you're a fan of mine, then it's really cool because you're able to say whatever you want and it comes out of my mouth," Rose said. "It looks so realistic. I'm just excited to see what my fans are going to say and the cool videos they're going to put out."

Police Killed In Maryland After Gunman Opens Fire

A gunman opened fire outside a police station in a Maryland suburb of Washington on Sunday afternoon, setting off a shootout in which one officer was killed.

Two suspects were in custody on Sunday night in connection with the attack in Landover, Md. The authorities identified the officer killed as Jacai Colson, 28, a four-year veteran of the Prince George’s County police force.

One of the suspects was believed to be the gunman, who the police said was struck during the gunfight and was in custody at a hospital. The second suspect was brought in for questioning. Charges were pending on Sunday night, the police said.

The gunman fired on the station around 4:30 p.m. Officer Colson returned fire but was fatally shot, the police said in a statement. The department described the shooting as an “ambush” and an “unprovoked attack.”

“This man launched an attack on a police station and engaged several Prince George’s County police officers in a gunfight to which they responded heroically,” Henry P. Stawinski III, the chief of the county Police Department, said at a news conference on Sunday night outside Prince George’s Hospital Center.

The chief said Officer Colson “immediately stepped into action,” adding, “I am very proud of him.”

Lascelles Grant, who lives next to the station, told The Washington Post that she and her baby hid in her bathroom when the gunfire began. She said she looked out her window and saw a man dressed in black firing a handgun at the station.

“He fired one shot, and then he started pacing back and forth, then fired another shot,” Ms. Grant told The Post.

John Teletchea, the president of the local Fraternal Order of Police, told reporters that Officer Colson was “a real cop’s cop” who had been “a very close friend.”

“Jacai had an infectious smile,” he said. “He lit up a room. He was a tremendous personality that made everybody smile and wanted to be everything to everybody.”

Officer Colson, who was assigned to the Narcotic Enforcement Division, would have celebrated his 29th birthday this week, the department said.

Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland said in a statement on Facebook that flags in the state would fly at half-staff in honor of Officer Colson.

“It is my hope that his proud legacy of commitment and passion for law enforcement and serving others will provide some comfort in the difficult days that lie ahead,” the governor said.

Both suspects were taken into custody before 7 p.m. The police said that they did not believe there were more suspects, but said that the investigation was in its early stages. They said the gunman’s motive was not yet known.

The shooting occurred outside the department’s District 3 station, which it said was next to department headquarters, about 10 miles from downtown Washington.

The sudden burst of gunfire led the authorities at 5 p.m. to urge residents in nearby neighborhoods to take shelter. The order was lifted shortly after 7:30, the police said.

Pastor Sentenced To Prison For Six Months For Burning Maids’ Private Part

A magistrate’s court in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State on Thursday sentenced a 38-year-old Pastor Ruben Okotie to six months imprisonment for seducing his house maid with red candle.

Presiding magistrate of the Court, Chief magistrate Carl Moeteke, who sentenced the accused, said he was found guilty with overwhelmed evidence in a three counts of conspiracy, attempted rape and illicit sexual act. Moeteke therefore sentenced the accused to six months without option of fine to serve as deterrent to others. It was gathered that Pastor Okotie on the 22nd day of February 2016 in Kwale town seduced his housemaid with a red candle after his wife had gone to visit her sick parents in a neighbouring community.

The housemaid, Helen, 13 years old and an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, was said to have resisted the attempt by the pastor to make love to her on her return from market where she had gone to buy food stuff and other cooking materials.

The pastor was said to have threatened to eject her from his house if she failed to comply. It was stated that a week after, the pastor pounced on the maid and pushed a red candle into her private part after forcing her into his bedroom.

He was reportedly arrested in Kwale when his wife reported the maid’s complaints to the police.
